The role

EMH Home is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Team Supervisor to lead and coordinate a team of Multi Trade Operatives or contractors, who undertake works in our customer’s homes across the East Midlands. As Electrical Supervisor and Principle Qualifying Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day safety, technical standard and quality of the electrical installation work carried out on behalf of emh, ensuring that emh also delivers a cost-effective service and a great customer journey. The successful candidate will also Manage and Maintain a robust and ongoing Electrical Safety audit regime, providing the Head of Service and Principle Duty Holder with informed reports based on Quality Audits result’s, that will drive a strong electrical safety culture

You should be an experienced people leader and will be able to motivate and lead the team with a trust and an output-based performance culture.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, which you will demonstrate working closely and in conjunction with other stakeholders across the business, including our Trade Union representatives, Maintenance Planning Team, and both our Housing and Customer Service Teams.

Emh has a co-regulation model, and you will actively engage with customers to address complaints and improve the service delivery and may participate in resident forums and scrutiny activity.

As a supervisor you will regularly be traveling to sites across the East Midlands, and will need to regularly attend our head office, and so the ability to travel is essential. Emh currently provides supervisors with a company vehicle for business related travel on a non-contractual basis. Emh encourages endeavours to offer opportunities to work flexibly and from home, where the business need allows.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as Principle Electrical Qualifying Supervisor, ensuring that the Group maintains compliance with its electrical activities and NICEIC Registration Requirements.
  • Under and manage a rigorous and ongoing Electrical Safety audit regime.
  • As Principle Qualifying Supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring that departmental Qualifying Supervisor’s maintain oversite of electrical activities undertaken by respective departments.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to draw up specifications, repairs orders, and contract documents for planned and reactive works.
  • Ensure effective contract administration, including instructions, valuations, certificates, accounts and documentation.
  • Manage internal and external contractor performance to deliver works on time, within budget, and to the required standard.
  • Actively engage with tenant and leaseholder customers to improve the service delivery, including participating in resident forums and scrutiny activity under emh homes co-regulation model.
  • Ensure a commercial awareness approach to delivery and continuous improvement.

 

The ideal candidate

You will be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of electrical principles, maintenance processes, techniques and best practices and will also have experience as an Electrical Qualifying Supervisor.

  • Be educated to HNC or relevant professional qualification
  • Hold City & Guilds 2360 part’s 1 & 2, Level 3 NVQ in Installing Electrotechnical systems and equipment, AM2, B.S. 7671:2018 and City & Guild 2391 0r or equivalent qualifications.
  • Have excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Show strong commercial awareness and customer service skills.
  • Have the ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise workloads.
